Bananza
We, the founders of Bananza have discovered that there is a better way to run society and are taking this opportunity to prove it.
We the founders of Bananza have decided to emancipate ourselves from the United States in order to put the new system into practice.
Our government will consist of four main parts. There is the Leader, the Cabinet, the Military, and the People. The Cabinet keeps the Leader in check and can veto his decisions if they feel that is necessary. They also keep the Leader informed of the people’s wishes. The people are informed by the Cabinet about the Leader’s decisions. The Leader is chosen by the people. However, they must fill certain intellectual requirements. The Leader needs a Masters in Social Studies and philosophy, as well as a degree in law and economics. Also, the Leader will not have absolute power. The people have the right to elect a new Leader if they so wish. The Cabinet has the same requirements except for the political philosophy degree. The minimum age for the Leader is 35, and the Cabinet’s minimum age is 18. The Leader makes policies, attends to the Cabinet, and attends to foreign affairs.
The Military consists of the navy, air-force, army, and special ops. The enlisting age is 18. You will be required to draft at the age of eighteen.
The people’s responsibility is to provide productive members of society and stay educated on political events and vote on them. In order to keep our citizens satisfied, taxes will be at a maximum of 7%.
There will be a public education service, and private education will be optional, but at your own expense.
We have found that the standards are not set high enough for our leaders to rule society successfully, and that the people have less of a say in the decisions the government make than they deserve.

I really like how well you laid out your government and were really specific about it, many of the groups (including mine)were not and it's a good thing that you did so people know exactly what they are getting themselves into. I think that overall you did a great job on the Declaration of Independence.
ReplyDeleteLike Xena, I too think you have been specific in laying out the organization of your new government. I wonder what the role of the military is, and to whom they are responsible (and who they report to)? Also, in your society, I wonder which group will initiate the creation of rules and laws. So much of government depends on this!
